Numbers 1–5 Activity Worksheet
Help preschool and Reception children connect numerals with number words and quantities. Worksheet 1 provides guided tracing and five-frame practice; Worksheet 2 checks understanding with playful Number Detective challenges.
Worksheet 1
Trace, Count, Show and Write
Guided practice connecting each numeral to its number word and five-frame quantity.
Worksheet 2
Number Detective Challenges
Independent matching, number recognition, five-frame and sequence activities.
What Children Will Learn
- Recognise and name numerals 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
- Form numerals through guided tracing and independent writing.
- Count objects once each and match a quantity to its numeral.
- See quantities inside a five-frame rather than relying only on counting.
- Recall the next number in a short sequence.
How to Use This Worksheet
Begin with Worksheet 1. Say each number word together, let the child touch each five-frame dot while counting, then trace and copy the numeral. Use Worksheet 2 later or on another day so it becomes a useful check of independent understanding rather than a memory test.
After printing, place five safe counters, blocks or toy animals beside the sheet. Ask the child to show two, then four, then one. This hands-on step connects the printed symbols to real quantities.
